Christians can be the difference
CityLight and Christ Central Ministries are working to make a difference in the "Corridor of Shame." The Corridor is all the school districts along Interstate I-95. According to the Kids Count report of the Annie Casey Foundation, the children in these school districts are in great need. Crime, unemployment, school dropouts, teen pregnacies and drug abuse are major problems. At the National Call to Care Conference held in Columbia,SC CityLight and Christ Central announced an initiative to organize church groups to go and minister to the families in these school districts.
We encourage you and your church and/or organization to take a look at the film and discover for yourself the needs of these communities. We believe the answer to the problems of these communities lies in a response from the Church.
We believe that prayer is the first step towards the much needed healing for the land. CityLight is asking people to respond to the call of II Chronicles 7:14. Please review the following information and contact us to be involved in Saving a Generation
“CORRIDOR OF SHAME: the neglect of South Carolina's rural schools" is a 58 minute documentary that tells the story of the challenges faced in funding an adequate education in South Carolina's rural school districts The documentary, supported by many of South Carolina's leading foundations and community leaders, tracks the evidence presented on behalf of eight school districts in Abbeville County School District v. The State of South Carolina.
Struggling with the effects of reduced funding from the State of South Carolina in recent years and declining support from local governments due to plant closings and diminishing tax bases, these school districts are hard pressed to provide a minimally adequate education to their students. There are 36 plaintiff school districts in the Abbeville case. Of those, eight are representative plaintiffs in the suit.
This documentary is the story of their extraordinary struggle to seek funding for an adequate education in rural South Carolina and the growing support for their cause.

14 if my people,
who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
